Alzheimer's disease Prevention!

What a powerful concept! We have been working on treatment for so long, with some important successes. We are able to image brains in fine detail. The bigger question: what can we do to prevent the onset and slow the progression of Alzheimer's and other dementias.

The Alzeimer's Disease Cooperative Study, http://www.adcs.org/, based in the United States, aspires to answer this question.

Read Dr. Nussbaum's new book: Save Your Brain. It is insightful and written for all of us. He highlights lifestyle innovations that are proven to keep you brain sharp and active.

Technology and Care of Frail Seniors

The sad outcome in a young 66 year old woman's life has been highlighted in the media this week. She wandered out in the cold in the middle of the night. Her spouse was unaware. By the time she was found, it was, sadly, too late to help.

Technology exists to minimize this and other dangers, and to improve and augment the value of the lives of aging adults. Please read the full text of a New York Times article addressing these issues, at the following url: http://www.livingdementia.com/news_events/dementia_news_janfeb-11.html
